Sandra Estanek, PhD, professor of graduate education and leadership and director of the master’s program in College Student Personnel Administration (CSPA), has been named a 2016 Diamond Honoree by American College Personnel Association: College Student Educators, International. The ACPA Foundation raises money to support research, scholarship, and professional development that advance college student development and success. Funds raised in honor of each honoree’s outstanding and sustained commitment to higher education go to support the ACPA Foundation and its research, scholarship and programs.

Estanek was nominated by two CSPA alumni, Edward Wright MS ’08 and Matthew McKay MS ’09, who agreed to serve as co-chairs of the fund raising effort to support her nomination. Each nominee is responsible for raising $2,500. If that amount is raised on her behalf, Estanek will be honored at the 2016 ACPA convention in Montreal, Canada in March 2016.

“This is an honor for the Canisius CSPA program as well as for me,” said Estanek, “especially because I was nominated and supported by alumni. As we look forward to our 20th anniversary next year, it is wonderful to see Canisius recognized with a Diamond Honoree as older programs at UB, Buffalo State and Syracuse have been. Professional development is something that we value highly in CSPA so I am happy to support the ACPA Foundation’s efforts to raise money for this purpose.”
