This past year, Dr. Lauren Cavanaugh and occupational therapists from Associated Physical and Occupational Therapists implemented a social skill program entitled: SURF Social Skills to students on the autism spectrum at two separate locations.
Students at school #80 following the beach games as they look through beach buckets filled with prizes.
This was the third year this social skills curriculum was implemented at Highgate Heights (school #80) in Buffalo and the first year at Autism Services Inc. Following the completion of the curriculum, students were rewarded with a SURF party which included beach-themed games, prizes, pizza, cake and beach bucket signing.
