
Gary M. Everett, with President John J. Hurley, was recognized for his service to Canisius College as he celebrates his retirement.
Canisius College honored the service milestones of more than 60 employees today in the Montante Cultural Center, during the college’s annual Celebration of Service. John J. Hurley, college president; Terri L. Mangione, PhD, vice president for student affairs; Kathleen B. Davis, vice president for enrollment management; and more than 200 family members, friends and Canisius community members were in attendance. The event acknowledged faculty, staff and administrator retirements, and those who have reached their 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45-year service anniversaries.The ceremony began with an invocation by Rev. James L. Dugan, S.J., campus minister, and a welcome by Mangione. President Hurley, Mangione and Davis presented the citations.

Sarah Mendola, executive associate for the library, celebrated 20 years of service, and Thomas M. Banchich, PhD, chair and professor of classics, was recognized for 35 years of service.
Following the presentation of 20- and 25-year citations, Cantio Sacra, under the direction of Bradley Wingert, performed several musical selections.
This is the 14th year that the college has held the Celebration of Service. Employees who have reached five, 10 and 15 years of service are honored at the Service Recognition Ceremony, each fall.

Lilly A. Adams-Dudley, associate dean and director of COPE, was honored for 40 years of service to the college.

Blair W. Foster, associate vice president for academic affairs and registrar, was honored for his retirement from the college.

R. Mark Meyer, PhD, associate professor of computer science, celebrated 25 years of service to the college.

Michael R. Rappl, assistant to the athletic director, was honored for his retirement from the college.

Michael W. Tampio, senior analyst for research and institutional effectiveness, was honored for 20 years of service to the college.
