Canisius AMA Chapter Wins International Award

The Canisius College American Marketing Association (AMA) recently traveled to New Orleans for the 37th Annual International Collegiate Conference where they participated in the Collegiate Chapter Exhibits competition as well as seminars, workshops, and presentations by successful marketing professionals.  Canisius AMA didn’t come home empty-handed. For the second straight year they received the Best Chapter Exhibit award and beat out more than 40 other competing schools from around the world. A total of 19 Canisius students participated in the conference.

The exhibits, presented in trade show fashion, gave AMA collegiate chapters the opportunity to be creative and show off their accomplishments. Fellow students, as well as guest judges, selected the winners on criteria such as best use of conference theme (“Be AMA-zing”), best educational value and best communication of chapter activities.

The Canisius AMA Chapter is a professional student organization and one of nearly 300 student chapters nationwide.  Canisius AMA has a main goal to help students prepare for their lives post-graduation, both professionally and personally.  With the guidance of their faculty advisor Gregory Wood, PhD, associate dean of the Wehle School of Business, Canisius AMA has been recognized with numerous awards in the past several years, including its Outstanding Community Service Award, Outstanding Professional Development Award, and first place awards in the exhibit competition.
