Your Canisius Golden Griffin baseball team plays its conference home openers this weekend when Fairfied pays a visit to the Demske Sports Complex. Saturday’s doubleheader is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start and Sunday’s single game is scheduled to begin at noon.

Your Griffs are off to a 3-0 league start, while Fairfield is 1-2 after the first week of MAAC action.
Canisius was the preseason favorite to win the league title this year, while Fairfield was picked for second.

Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius College hosts Dr. Paulina Napierała, assistant professor at the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora at Jagiellonian University, Krakow. Napierla is also a Fulbright Fellow at Boston College and Harvard University. Her lecture, “Religion and Politics in Poland and in the USA: A Comparative Study,” will take place in the Grupp Fireside Lounge today at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The Spring Student/Faculty Recital is this Sunday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Students and faculty will perform a variety of music from the Baroque to Contemporary periods for voice, piano, violin, and saxophone. This event is free and open to the public.
A Meet-the-Faculty Recital, “Bach Birthday Celebration,” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. and is also in the Montante Cultural Center. This recital is a celebration of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and includes performances of a flute sonata, cello sonata, violin sonata, keyboard music and selections of vocal arias for Baritone, as well as a performance of “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by the Canisius College Chorale, directed by Frank Scinta. Canisius College faculty performers include Ansgarius Aylward, violin; Ellen Barnum, bassoon; Jane Cary, harpsichord; Bryan Eckenrode, cello; Anna Mattix, oboe; Nicole McPherson, flute; Karen Schmid, keyboard; and James Wright, baritone. This event is also free and open to the public.

On Friday, March 27 another password expiration notice Email will be sent to those whose password will expire by April 7. If you received an Email on March 6 and have reset your password, you will not receive this reminder notice. If you have not reset your password and received the mail on March 6, you will receive a similar Email reminder noting that it is 10 days until your password will expire and must be reset.
Beginning April 7, the notices will be automated. Reminders will be sent at 30 and 20 days prior to password expiration. This will be followed by daily reminders from 14 days prior to your password expiration down to expiration. When you reset your password, the new expiration is 180 days from that date, also ceasing reminder messages.
The password reset requirement is in accordance with the password reset policy, which went into effect in October 2014.
Guidelines for resetting you password were posted in The Dome on March 9, or you can contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance if needed.

The online CEEP application for undergraduate students will close on Friday, March 27, 2015.
Any office on campus can employ a Canisius Earning Excellence Program (CEEP) student with an appropriate research project. A 3.25 or higher GPA is required and all students in all majors may apply to work in academic departments, administrative offices or off campus. The rate for CEEP is $9.50 per hour, minus taxes, for a maximum of 250 hours.
Faculty and staff who employ students from the Canisius Earning Excellence Program are asked to remind their students to fill out applications for 2015-2016 CEEP awards. Renewal is not automatic.
