Listen to Honors “Last Lecture” by Mick Cochrane

This year’s All-College Honors “Last Lecture” – the third in our series – will be given by Mick Cochrane, PhD, professor of English and director of the Creative Writing Program. The idea for this series comes from a lecture by Carnegie-Mellon University Computer Science Professor Randy Pausch, who was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer and gave, literally, the last lecture of his short life. It was his chance to inspire his audience with the experience, wisdom, and humor that he had gathered. Cochrane, an award-winning novelist and coordinator of the Contemporary Writers Series, will give his “Last Lecture” – not literally, of course – on Monday, March 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the Science Hall Commons. All are welcome to attend.  Refreshments will be served.

Learn about Digital Resources for Faculty

Each day, the Canisius College FacTS Center is adding to or updating a range of useful technology resources for Canisius faculty. These include procedures, tutorials, and tips for:

– Conducting and continuing your class during temporary circumstances when your classroom isn’t available (such as inclement weather).

– Getting started in teaching online, or augmenting your face-to-face classes with powerful online tools.

– Using social media tools and sites effectively for your course, program, project, or office.

– Learning about digital scholarly tools and projects, particularly in the emerging field of digital humanities.

Check out these new or improved resources (and more!) at our Wiki pages.
As always, FacTS Center conducts classroom workshops on campus for Desire2Learn and Google Drive. Sign up here!
