The Department of Kinesiology hosted the Western Zone New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AHPERD) annual conference for the fifth consecutive year on Monday, March 2 at the Koessler Athletic Center. A record number of physical and health educators from the local Western New York area were in attendance with more than 130 who participated.
Students from the college’s Physical and Health Education Teacher Education program highlighted the day’s events alongside other presentations from the United States Tennis Association, American Heart Association, USA Rugby, and local area health and physical educators. In addition, winners of the Western Zone Get Moving Video NY contest were announced. Canisius students took two of three top honors in the competition.
