The Canisius College Griff Center for Academic Engagement has appointed Julie Zulewski and Allison Suflita as its new associate director and assistant director, respectively.

The Griff Center provides comprehensive programs, services and resources to support the academic and professional success of students. Components of the Griff Center include new student orientation and advisement, tutoring, academic mentoring, internship and career services, accessibility support and veteran support.

“The college has developed a comprehensive approach to academic engagement that incorporates career services into the four-year plan for our undergraduate students as well as career support for our graduate students and alumni,” says Anne Marie Dobies, assistant vice president and director of the Griff Center. “By adding to our team of experts, we will be able to be more responsive and provide a seamless support system of resources for our students, alumni and employers.”

Julie Zulewski will serve as the new associate director of the Griff Center for Academic Engagement. In this role, Zulewski will focus on student internships, job development and employer relations. Specifically, she is responsible for developing and implementing a recruiting strategy to attract employers able to offer internships and future employment to students.

Allison Suflita will serve as the new assistant director of the Griff Center for Academic Engagement. Responsible for the college’s on-campus recruiting program, Suflita will coordinate employer information sessions, market on-campus recruiting jobs to students, and create and maintain a comprehensive database of career, experiential learning and internship opportunities for Canisius students and alumni.
