I. Joan Lorch Award

Nominations are being taken for the 2015 I. Joan Lorch Award given to those who have worked to promote gender equality and fairness here at Canisius College, as well as in the community. The award is given in honor of Joan Lorch, PhD, professor emeritus of biology. The categories include one Canisius College employee, one student and one member of the community-at-large. Please consider nominating a worthy recipient for one or all of the awards. Include a brief statement explaining why the nominee is worthy of the award. Nominations are accepted through Friday, December 19. Nominations can be mailed to fisherj@canisius.edu.

Sunday Mass Times for Dec. 7

Sunday Mass with Blessing of the Brains at 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

This is the last 9:30 p.m. Mass for the semester. Sunday Mass at 10:00 a.m. resumes until shutdown.

Tune in to “Crossroads”

Rev. Patrick Lynch, S.J., hosts Terri Mangione, PhD and Rev. Michael Tunney, S.J., on this week’s edition of “Crossroads.”

The vice president for student affairs and director of mission and identity will discuss their recent trip to El Salvador to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Jesuit martyrs.

Mangione and Father Tunney traveled to El Salvador with a delegation of Canisius alumni, friends and administrators, including President John J. Hurley.

“Crossroads” is a monthly radio program hosted by Father Lynch, chair of religious studies and theology. The show will be broadcast this Sunday, December 7 at 6:00 a.m. on MIX-96 (96.1 FM) and at 6:30 a.m. on JACK-FM (92.9 FM).

The program can also be heard in its entirety, beginning Monday, December 8 on the college’s iTunes site.
