Your Atlantic Hockey champion Golden Griffins host Mercyhurst Saturday night in what will be the team’s home opener and a celebration of last year’s incredible success.
After playing their first six games of the season on the road, Canisius finally returns to home ice. The Griffs and Lakers face off at 7 p.m. in a clash that features the two teams that fought for the tournament championship in March.
Mercyhurst was the preseason pick to win this year’s crown and they are coming off an 8-2 pasting of Air Force in Erie last weekend.
Prior to the game, the Griffs will unveil their Atlantic Hockey championship banner and their NCAA Trny banner. A brief ring ceremony will precede the unveiling. The entire squad will receive their rings at halftime of the men’s basketball game on Nov. 11.
