Anthony R. Ingraffea, PhD, the Dwight C. Baum Professor of Engineering at Cornell University, will speak at Canisius College on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Ingraffea, a recognized expert in the field, will cover the basics of how fracturing (fracking) works and why natural gas from these unconventional sources is part of our national energy policy. He will also discuss potential problems with fracking, the controversy surrounding its practices and policies, and how effective regulations might be implemented. Ingraffea will include an explanation of how all these areas relate to global climate change and attempt to build a global framework to control it.
