Summer Open House at CPD

The Center for Professional Development is holding a Summer Open House on Thursday, August 22 from 5 – 7 p.m. Sit in on a 30 minute “snapshot” of some of our most popular programs, Project Management, Mini MBA, Professional Leadership and our brand new Quota Professional Sales Series using exciting new gamification techniques.

Have some summer refreshments, see our new focus group facility and say hello to Blake, Brynne and Stephanie!

Mass in the Grass

Please join us for our first Sunday Mass of the school year on August 25 at 9:30 p.m. outside on the quad. Fr. Tom Colgan, S.J. will be our main presider.

White Coat Ceremony for Pre-Med Alumni

Eight alumni of the Canisius College Pre-Medical Program took their first, public steps toward becoming physicians, when they participated in the White Coat Ceremony at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences on Friday, August 16.

Etu Receives George M. Martin Advancement Award

The Canisius College Division of Institutional Advancement presented Kristin E. Etu ’91 with the George M. Martin Advancement Award on Thursday, August 8, during the division’s recognition dinner. The award annually recognizes an individual’s extraordinary contributions to the division.

Etu is an assistant director of public relations at Canisius. She is involved with both internal and external communications, helps facilitate media relations between the college and print and broadcast journalists, and serves as a contributing writer to Canisius Magazine.

Etu came to Canisius in 2002 as a public relations specialist. She was promoted to assistant director in 2011.

Active in the community, both professionally and on a volunteer basis, Etu is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and chair of the Public Relations Committee for the annual Catwalk for Charity event that benefits Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller’s Steadfast Foundation.

Etu holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Canisius College.
