The Canisius College Video Institute production of the August episode of Kaleidoscope is now airing on Time Warner Cable.  This 30-minute television program celebrates the religious diversity of our region, and represents collaboration between the Video Institute and the Network of Religious Communities.  Kaleidoscope is re-broadcast each Friday at 6:35 p.m. on Time Warner Cable 20.

This episode features a story about the importance of water and the unique role it plays in the Hindu and Eastern Orthodox Christian traditions.   Dr. Jonathan Lawrence, associate professor of religious studies and theology and president of the Network of Religious Communities, interviews Rev. Thomas Reese, an expert on the US Catholic Church and the Vatican, about Catholic identity in the 21st century.

Students in the Spring 2013 Video Institute course produced six episodes of Kaleidoscope.  The course was taught by Barbara Irwin, PhD, professor of communication studies, and Paula DeAngelis-Stein, COM ’86/MS ’02.
