Congratulations to Gary Everett, director of publicsafety, who received the Heart & Soul Award from St. Mary’s School for the Deaf (SMSD).  Everett received the award for his many contributions to the school, including his work on the board of trustees.

“All schools need to be a warm, safe place,” said Timothy Kelly, superintendent at SMSD. “Gary Everett’s dedication, expertise and his steadfast commitment to our school community, assures us that St. Mary’s School for the Deaf is safer and more secure. Gary is well-respected by all stake holders and his work as a member of our board of trustees has a direct impact on our students reaching their full potentials.”

The Heart & Soul Award was created in honor of its first recipients, Srs. Loretta and Virginia Young, Canisius adjunct professors of modern languages, literatures and cultures.
