Public Safety Participates in Cops on Top Fundraiser

Canisius Public Safety Officers Scott Becker and Andy Nowak braved the heat on Wednesday, July 17 to participate in the Cops on Top fund raiser for New York State law enforcement to benefit Special Olympics. Officers were stationed on top of (you read that correctly)! or around local Dunkin Donuts restaurants. Officers used a bullhorn to ask costumers for donations and lowered a bucket from the roof. In return for their donation, customers received a coupon for a donut or cup of coffee.

Public safety, along with other loyal law enforcement officers raised more than $1,200 at the downtown Dunkin Donuts location with other law enforcement officers. Canisius has been involved New York State Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics for more than 25 years.
