Java and Macs on campus breaks

On Thursday, Apple blocked all versions of Java from running on the Macintosh operating system due to serious malware concerns. See this USA Today article for more information. This has the effect on campus to disable any Java plugins for every Mac computer and browser on campus. This will render lots of games and other websites inoperable. The most important aspect here on campus is that is breaks Banner access from Macintosh computers. PC users are not affected. For the time being, all Mac users will need to use a Windows computer to access Banner. There is currently no fix for this and we will keep the campus community apprised of any changes. If you have questions please feel free to contact the ITS Help Desk at x8340.
