Canisius College will hold its sixth annual Ignatian Scholarship Day on Friday, April 19, 2013 on the second floor of the Winter Student Center, Montante Cultural Center and other campus venues. This event is a celebration that showcases the research, scholarship, and performances of our undergraduate and graduate students through poster displays, oral paper presentations, multimedia presentations, two or three-dimensional art, or artistic performances (poetry, drama, vocal or instrumental music) throughout the day, as well as a concert by the Canisius Concert Chorale in the evening.

This event is an opportunity for every student to submit the best work from the current or a previous semester for exhibit, presentation, or performance in a conference environment similar to that of a learned society or organization. Participating in the event is a mark of high quality academic and creative work.

Each student presentation must be endorsed by a member of the Canisius full-time or adjunct faculty, staff or administration. Approval implies that the work has been seen and the endorser believes it is worthy of college-wide presentation. All endorsed proposals will be in the celebration.

Students will electronically submit an abstract describing their work (the form will be available beginning Feb. 1 and can be accessed here – https://apps.canisius.edu/ignatian). Once the student completes and submits the form online, an email will be sent to the faculty member(s) named as mentor. Faculty members are asked to review the submissions and endorse.

The following timeline is important:
Friday, February 1, 2013: Student online submission and endorser approval process begins
Friday, March 1, 2013: Deadline for completed student abstracts submitted online
Tuesday, March 5, 2013: Deadline for faculty endorsement process. No further submissions can be accepted due to printing deadlines.
