President John J. Hurley is honored for 15 years of service to the college.

Nearly 100 Canisius College employees were recognized for their five, 10 and 15-year service anniversaries in the Montante Cultural Center today during the annual Service Recognition Ceremony. Combined, these faculty members, staff and administrators have contributed approximately 850 years of service to the college.

Family members, friends and members of the Canisius community gathered for the celebration. Susan A. Fischer, associate campus minister, gave the invocation. Richard A. Wall, PhD, interim vice president for academic affairs, assisted President John J. Hurley in the presentation of the awards. The event also included performances by the Canisius Brass and Cantio Sacra.

Dennis L. Misko, director of special gifts for institutional advancement, and Lisa C. Fischer, executive associate to the vice president for academic affairs, were both recognized for five years of service; and Antone “Joe” F. Alber, PhD, dean of the Wehle School of Business, was honored for 10 years of service.

This is the 12th year the college has held the Service Recognition Ceremony to commemorate significant milestones in employee service. In the spring, Canisius recognizes employees who have reached 20 or more years of service, as well as retirees.
