Timothy Snyder, PhD., will present a lecture on his book, “Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin”, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Regis Rooms of the Student Center. The Economist and The Telegraph (London) named Bloodlands the “Book of the Year.” Snyder offers a groundbreaking investigation of the places where Europeans were murdered by the millions and a sustained explanation of the motives and methods of both Hitler and Stalin. Synder is the Housum Professor of History at Yale University. The Permanent Chair of Polish Culture joins with the Canisius History Department, The WNY Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Yale Alumni of WNY for the presentation. This event opens the Chair’s Polish Film Festival, Art Exhibit and Book Sale which runs through November 19, 2012. A book-signing and reception will follow the event.
