Beginning on Monday November 5 Canisius will host 20 Physical Education teachers from Shanghai, China for a customized seven-week training program conducted by faculty in the Kinesiology Department. These are adult students who are full-time teachers in the Shanghai schools. Their program includes instruction from our faculty, visits to cooperating schools, attending the New York State conference for Physical Education and Health teachers, and attending college and professional cultural and sports events such as Canisius athletics, the Buffalo Bills vs.St. Louis Rams, and the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Philadelphia 76ers. The students will be residing in Desmond Hall on Jewett Parkway but will be taking their meals at our dining facilities on campus and will participate in other events as they wish. Their classes will be in the Koessler Athletic Center. Kinesiology faculty members Jeffrey Lindauer PhD and Clancy Seymour have organized this unique experience for the Chinese educators. If you happen to encounter any of these students, please do not hesitate to welcome them to Canisius.
