Jonathan M. DiCicco, PhD, associate professor of political science and director of the International Relations Program, is the recipient of the 2012-2013 Canisius College Freshman Advisor of the Year Award. Christine J. Ryan, PhD, associate dean, undergraduate academic advisement, presented DiCicco with his award on Wednesday, September 26 during a ceremony in Bagen Hall. DiCicco was nominated by his freshman advisees. He was ultimately selected by a committee of academic administrators based on his dedication to freshman advisement and to his students. This is the third year that the college has honored a faculty member with the Freshman Advisor of the Year Award.
DiCicco serves as an academic advisor for international relations majors and is currently in his third year participating in the Freshman Academic Advising Program. In addition to receiving the award for his office, DiCicco’s name has been engraved on a perpetual plaque which is displayed in the Student Advisement Center.
