Math Circle starts Oct. 2

Our Math Circle at Canisius has its first meeting on Tuesday, October 2, from 4pm to 5:30pm, in Science Hall Room SH 1053. We welcome students from grades 7 – 12 who want to explore mathematical curiosities and have fun with mathematics.

Attention all WordPress users: WordCamp is coming to Canisius!

The Communication Studies Department will host WordCamp Buffalo on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 a.m. in Lyons Hall The event concludes with closing remarks at 4:45 p.m in Montante Cultural Center. WordCamp brings WordPress website owners, bloggers, designers and developers together for an informal series of lectures and workshops.

The best part? All this is only $15, which includes a light breakfast, lunch, a t-shirt, WordPress swag and of course, a choice of 6 workshops held by WordPress experts.

Have a specific question? Stuck on a bit of code? Need help setting up? We’ll have experts on hand at the Happiness Bar to answer your questions and provide hands-on support all day long.

Business owners, bloggers, and folks new to WordPress will find a home in the Users track, where experts from Western New York and beyond will offer ways to get to know your WordPress site, improve your blog, and more – no tech-speak translations required!

Reminder: Employee Health & Wellness Fair/Flu Shots

The first Employee Health & Wellness Fair/Flu Shots will continue today, Wednesday, September 26. The fair will run from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in Grupp Fireside Lounge and is open to all Faculty and Staff.

Independent Nursing Care will be available to provide flu shots. Please bring your insurance card. There will be other vendors from on and off campus providing information on health, nutrition, vision and much more. A few of the vendors that will be participating are Fleet Feet Sports, BAC for Women, Tops Markets, Roswell Park and many more.

Independent Health will be on hand to provide biometric testing and health assessments. Please note that participation in the biometric testing and health assessment provides an opportunity to reduce health insurance costs. Those who attend and complete the biometric testing and health assessments will be entered into a drawing for door prizes donated by our vendors.
