Fifteen Canisius Faculty Recognized for Promotions, Tenure, Emeritus Status

Fifteen Canisius faculty members who were recently promoted, or granted tenure or emeritus status were recognized on Friday, September 14 at a ceremony in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library. President John J. Hurley presented each recipient with a certificate of achievement. Honorees were also invited to dedicate a book of his/her choice to the library’s main collection. The books are now on display in the library.

Canisius Named a Military Friendly School

For the third consecutive year, Canisius College has received the designation of “Military Friendly School” from G.I. Jobs, the premier magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.

Political Strategist Karl Rove on Campus Tonight

The William H. Fitzpatrick Chair of Political Science Lecture Series will welcome Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff and senior advisor to President George W. Bush, at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the Montante Cultural Center. Rove’s lecture is entitled “Understanding America’s Challenges.” The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
