I am very pleased to announce the approval of a new Hiring for Mission Policy that was developed by the Hire for Mission Committee co-chaired by Rev. Michael F. Tunney, SJ., director of mission and identity and Deb Winslow-Schaber, director of human resources.

The Committee was formed last fall to develop and implement a shared understanding of what it means to hire for mission as articulated in the college’s Transformational Education plan. The policies I am approving will result in changes to our external job listings and recruitment advertising. They provide guidance on how to raise mission-related questions in the recruitment process. They have been tailored for all categories of employees at the college.

Fr. Tunney is working with the Marketing and Communication group to post these policies on the college’s website. He will be working with Human Resources on their implementation this year.

I am grateful to the members of the Committee for their diligent work on this important project over the past year: Anne Marie Dobies, Larry Jones, Erin Robinson, Deborah Winslow-Schaber, Barbara Wozniak, and Fr. Tunney.
