Public Relations Changes Name to Marketing and Communication

I am pleased to announce that effective immediately the administrative unit that has been known as Public Relations has been renamed Marketing and Communication.  The Marketing and Communication name more accurately reflects the work of this area, which is comprised of Public Relations, Web Services, Creative Services, Marketing and Government Relations.  It is a reflection of the expanded role they have played over the past year in the development of the integrated marketing strategy and rebranding initiative for Canisius.

Debra Park continues to lead this unit as an associate vice president reporting directly to me.  Her new title is Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communication.

You were welcomed back to campus this week with new campus banners.  There is new brand art in Science Hall.  In the days and weeks ahead you will begin to see advertising, new brochures and our new web site, which has launch today.  The team has also been presenting a series of informational sessions to acquaint you with the new campaign.

This has all involved a tremendous amount of work in a very short period of time.  It is essential work as we pursue new recruiting markets.  Please join me in congratulating the Marketing and Communication unit on a job well done.

Mass of the Holy Spirit Reminder

Faculty members, librarians, and administrators who normally robe for events assemble no later than 12:45 p.m. on Thursday August 30 in the Old Main Faculty Lounge for the procession. Classes and labs scheduled from 1:00 to 2:15 pm are cancelled unless in the judgment of the faculty member serious academic consequences would occur for the students.
