The 10th Annual WNY Student Composers’ Day featuring the prize-winners of the “Persis Vehar Competition for Excellence in Composition” is tonight (March 27) at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The prize- winners will each present their own compositions and receive comments from Canisius College’s composer-in-residence, Persis Vehar, and adjunct professor Michael Colquhoun, PhD, who are the competition’s adjudicators. The winners are:

  • First prize: Natalie Buckle
  • Second prize: Aaron Roberston
  • Third prize: Alexandria Kemp
  • Honorable Mentions: Leonardo Ranallo and Collin Kemeny
