All are invited to the first Physics Cafe of the Spring 2012 semester by Daniel Ramsey, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at UB, on Monday (January 30) in Horan-O’Donnell 103 at 3 p.m. The Physics Cafe is an informal meeting to learn about and discuss topics in Physics and Engineering.

The title of the lecture is, “Introduction to Mechanical, Neuromuscular and Anatomical Assessment of Human Movement.” Ramsey’s expertise is in biomechanical analysis of normative and aberrant gait mechanics. At UB, he is studying the local biomechanical factors in degenerative joint disease and disability. In addition, he examines which rehabilitative strategies can mediate chronic pain, improve knee function and stability, and normalize walking. In his talk, he will discuss the instruments and analysis in quantifying human movement.
