Students Showcase Films About Religious Diversity

The Canisius College community is invited to a screening of student films about religious diversity in Buffalo on Tuesday (December 13) at 6:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.  These films were developed as part of a fall capstone course taught by Jonathan Lawrence, PhD, named “Religious Diversity in Buffalo.”  The films will also be available soon online on the blog for the Religion in Western New York Project.

Nominate Students For Who’s Who

Each fall semester, the college is given the opportunity to nominate a number of talented junior and senior students for inclusion in the publication “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”  All faculty and staff are invited to actively participate in the nomination of juniors and seniors for this honor.

Please view the application (Adobe Acrobat PDF) for criteria, which will serve as a guide to the selection committee.  Please return completed nomination forms to the Office of Campus Programming & Leadership Development, SC-LL by December 16.  Please note that the deadline for submissions has been extended to Friday, December 16 at 5 p.m.

Kid’s Night Out With The Griffs Coming

The Griffs’ Baseball program invites all junior Griffs fans to join them for the 1st annual “Kid’s Night out with the Griffs’” which will take place December 16-17.

Parents can sign their kids up for a fun filled night of baseball, basketball, kickball, volleyball, swimming, movies and more, all while “hanging with the Griffs.”  The children will spend the evening playing games and watching movies such as “Miracle,” “Sandlot” and “Rudy” with the Canisius College Golden Griffin Baseball players and staff.  There will be a curfew, and the building will be locked down after hours.

Parents will be asked to pack a bagged lunch (pizza/drink will be provided), glove, sneakers, swim suit, towel, sleeping bag, blanket and pillow. All other necessary equipment will be provided.
