Rev. Paul J. Dugan, S.J. blesses a new public safety car on Thursday, August 18 in the Loyola Hall parking lot. Assisting him is Public Safety Officer Aaron Turner. The ceremony is meant to bless the vehicle and the officers who drive it. Rev. Dugan blesses all parts of the vehicles including the motors, brakes and other safety features. In 2001, Rev. Dugan was named the first public safety chaplin and since then, the event has been an annual tradition for all cars put into public service.
