Softball Senior Day Saturday (April 30)

The final home games for a quartet of Canisius softball players is scheduled for Saturday (April 30) as the Golden Griffins host Marist at noon on the Demske Sports Complex diamond in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference twin bill.  Canisius is looking to move into the top four of the MAAC in order to qualify for the 2011 conference tournament.

Learn How To Build An iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad App

What does it take to develop an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app for education?  Learn how to make one from an Apple developer on May 19 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Lyons 122.  Lunch will be provided.

Rick Bettencourt, a system engineer at Apple on the Higher Education NE team, will present a coding/Q&A time seminar on the developer programs including information about the Software Developer Kits (SDKs), Objective C, iOS Patterns and the challenges people face as a first time developer on the iOS platform.  Those who are a web, java, c, c++ , c# developer, or those who just have a good idea for an app, are welcome to attend to learn what it will take to build an Apple app.

Bettencourt has 25 years experience as a software developer, concentrating on cross platform distributed applications and design.
