All are welcome to attend a lecture by Harold “Farmer” Brown entitled “Exposing the Humane Myth” Thursday (April 28) at 7 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.

Brown grew up on a Michigan beef farm and he instinctively felt that the animals his family raised for food were not so different than his pet dog or cat.  Later in life, a remarkable encounter with a rescued steer at a sanctuary opens the door to Brown’s past, launching him on a life-changing quest to reintegrate the parts of himself that were fragmented as a child.  Brown connected with other former farmers and began to forge a new path that integrates his love and knowledge of animals with his vision for a more peaceful world. Brown started an organization called “Farm Kind” and gives public lectures throughout the USA.

A vegan potluck dinner in concert with Brown’s lecture will also be held.  To enjoy the potluck feast, please bring a vegan dish to share.

This lecture is sponsored by the Animal Allies of Canisius College and the Animal Allies of Western New York.  For more information, contact Animal Allies of Canisius College at AnimAlly@canisius.edu.
