Windows 7 Update To Be Applied

Beginning Monday, April 25, ITS will apply the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 update from Microsoft to campus network-attached Windows 7 computers.  This update may prompt for restarting office computers after it has installed.

If when this prompt appears it is convenient to allow the restart, please click on the “Reboot Now” button.  The process of completing this update can take up to 10-15 minutes depending on the speed of the computer.

If it is not convenient at the time, choose “Reboot later” and the update will apply at the time the computer is shut down or rebooted later in the day.  If applied during shutdown, a message stating “installing update 1 of 1” will appear when the shutdown is initiated.  The system will turn off after it has completed.

The next time login occurs after either choice, a one-time dialog box upon logon that indicates that the “Windows 7 Service Pack 1 successfully installed” will appear.  Simply click the “Close” button.

Senior Days For Men’s, Women’s Lacrosse This Week

Megan Oosting

The final home games for men’s and women’s lacrosse will take place this week with graduation seniors being honored at both games.

The women’s lacrosse team wraps up its home schedule Thursday (April 23) when Albany visits for a 1 p.m. game.  This will be the final home game for eight Griffin seniors.  Canisius currently sports a 10-4 record overall.  The Griffs are undefeated at home and have won eight straight at the Demske dating back to the 2010 season.  Albany is one of three undefeated teams in the country.  The Great Danes are ranked ninth in the nation with a 12-0 record.

The final home game for nine Golden Griffin men’s lacrosse players will take place this Saturday (April 23) when Siena visits for a 1 p.m. MAAC contest.  The Griffs are in a three-way tie for third place in the conference with a 2-2 mark, while Siena sits alone in second at 3-1.  The top four teams qualify for the MAAC Championships in Buffalo from May 6-8.  Tickets are currently on sale for that event at the MAAC website.
