Canisius President John J. Hurley appointed Richard A. Wall, PhD, interim vice president for academic affairs for the 2011-12 academic year. A professor of economics and finance, Wall came to Canisius in 1980 and is widely recognized as an educator and a scholar.
“During Rick’s tenure at Canisius, he has earned the confidence of our faculty and students through his teaching, scholarship and service,” says Hurley. “I am confident that Rick will provide excellent leadership for academic affairs during this critical transition period, and am grateful for his willingness to serve in this very important position.”
“This is an exciting period for Canisius College,” adds Wall. “The institution has achieved considerable success in recent years and is moving to the next level in its academic facilities and degree programs. I look forward to helping to further the college’s commitments to academic excellence, student-centered learning and community engagement.”
