Ignatian Scholars Colloquium Examines Evil
John Zeis, PhD, professor of philosophy, will present “God is smirking at me: the blessings of a decade of death” during an Ignatian Scholars Colloquium Thursday (April 14) at 4 p.m. in the Deans’ Suite Conference Room.
Zeis will offer an answer to the question: how can God allow horrendous evil? The problem of evil is thought to be the greatest threat to faith. On the other hand, St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas hold that God’s power is so great as to even bring good out of evil. All are welcome to attend.
