Canisius Honored With Silver Addy Award

The Canisius College viewbook received a silver Addy award in the “Collateral Material, Brochure, Color” category by the Advertising Club of Buffalo during the annual Addy Award ceremony held March 18. The viewbook is one of the main recruitment materials used by undergraduate admissions. The piece was designed by Andalyn Courtney, director of creative services, written by John Dahlberg, PhD, professor of communication studies and a senior administrative fellow, and printed by Sterling Sommer.

Peace And Justice Mass March 30

The Office of Campus Ministry invites the Canisius community to celebrate a Mass for Peace and Justice on Wednesday, March 30 at 5 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.  The celebrant will be Rev. Thomas Colgan, S.J. and a Lenten meal will follow in the undercroft of Christ the King Chapel.

As we journey into the Lenten season, we try to hold true to the words of the Prophet Isaiah, “Is not this the kind of fast I desire, namely, to cut loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set free the oppressed and break every yoke of bondage.” (Isaiah 58:6)

Lax Teams Home This Weekend

The Canisius College lacrosse men’s and women’s teams close out spring break with a series of home games this weekend.

The Golden Griffin women host University of Connecticut Friday (March 25) at 5 p.m. before meeting Duquesne at 3 p.m. on Sunday (March 27).  These are the Giffs final games before beginning conference play.

The Canisius men meet Marist in a contest that will be televised by Time Warner Sports.  The Griffs host the Red Foxes at 1 p.m. on Saturday (March 26).
