Lacrosse Home Opener this Weekend

Whether or not the temperatures reflect it, spring has officially arrived for Canisius College athletics. Like sighting the first robin each spring, the Golden Griffins will make their initial appearance when the men’s lacrosse team hosts Binghamton Saturday, March 5  at 2 pm.

Canisius is off to an 0-2 start with losses at Bucknell and Harvard, while the Bearcats were 0-2 prior to hosting nationally ranked Cornell on Tuesday afternoon.

Canisius is paced by one of its all-time greats in Adam Jones. The Griffs first all-American, Jones became the first Canisius College men’s lacrosse player ever selected in the Major League Lacrosse Draft, chosen with the 38th-overall pick by the Rochester Rattlers. He is also the preseason MAAC Player of the Year.

Season tickets are still available for a mere $25 by calling Ext. 2885. For additional information, go to www.gogriffs.com.
