Memorial Masses Scheduled For Dr. Minet, Dr. Kalb

Memorial Masses will be held later this month for two deceased Canisius faculty members.

A Memorial Mass for Lawrence Minet, PhD, will be held Thursday, January 27 at 5:15 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.  A Memorial Mass for John Kalb, PhD, will be held Friday, January 28 at 5 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.  All are invited to attend.

Spring 2011 Mass Schedule

The Office of Campus Ministry has announced the Spring schedule of Masses.

Sunday Masses will be held at 11:45 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.  The great Contemporary Music Ensemble (CME) will be at the 9:30 p.m. Mass.  There will be no 9:30 p.m. Mass on March 20 (Spring Break) and April 24 (Easter Break).

Weekday Masses will be held Mondays through Fridays at 12:05 p.m. except on January 17 (MLK Holiday), February 21 and 22 (Presidents’ Weekend), March 21-25 (Spring Break), and April 21, 22 and 25 (Easter Break).

Wednesday evening Mass will be at 9 p.m. preceded by Eucharistic Adoration from 8-9 p.m. (except March 23 and April 20).

All Masses are in Christ the King Chapel and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) will be held Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the Chapel Reconciliation Room when classes are in session.  One may also make an appointment for reconciliation in the Office of Campus Ministry (OM 207).

Annual Kid’s Day Slated For Friday (January 14)

A loud din will emanate from the Koessler Athletic Center on Friday (January 14) during the annual Kid’s Day game, presented by Independent Health.

Approximately 35 buses will bring more than 2,100 school age children to the women’s basketball game versus Marist.  Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m. as the Griffs try to knock off the first-place Red Foxes in front of an appreciative and noisy audience.

A block of seats will be held for season ticket and family pass holders and for fans wishing to purchase tickets on game day.

Family Skate January 17

The annual Anderson’s Ice Cream Family Skate will take place January 17 at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.  This event is one of the highest attended faculty-staff events on the calendar.

The Griffs host Quinnipiac that afternoon at 4 p.m. with the family skate scheduled to begin immediately after the contest.  All skaters receive a dish of Anderson’s ice cream during the post-game skate.  Skate rental is free and compliments of Canisius College Athletics.

Faculty and staff and their families will be admitted free by showing their ID card at the door.
