Foster Promoted To Associate Vice President

Scott A. Chadwick, PhD, vice president for academic affairs at Canisius College, announced today that Blair W. Foster has been promoted to associate vice president for academic affairs. The promotion is effective immediately. Foster will retain his current position as registrar.

Foster leads the Office of Student Records and Registration, the Office of Student Success and Retention, the Student Advisement Office and the Career Center.

“This promotion recognizes Blair’s continuously expanding responsibilities and the strategic importance of the areas he manages,” said Chadwick. “Our efforts to integrate student recruitment, advisement and retention through seamless data systems would not be possible without his exemplary leadership.”

Swim Team KAC Waters Saturday (November 13)

The Canisius men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to the Koessler Athletic Center pool this weekend for a battle against league rival Iona College.  Saturday’s (November 13) meet starts at 10 a.m.  There is no admission charge; however, arrive early as it is an Athletes for Atheltes event and the pool is expected to be packed.

Senior Night For Volleyball Saturday (November 13)

The Golden Griffin volleyball team hosts Little Three and MAAC rival Niagara University on Saturday (November 13) at 7 p.m. in the Koessler Athletic Center. There is no admission charge.

The game marks the final home contest for seniors Renee Lettow and Jasmine Brennan.  Canisius is battling Iona and Fairfield for second place in the MAAC.  Canisius has an 11-6 league record and is 15-14 overall.  The Griffs will be looking to stop the Purple Eagles 15-game win streak.

Student/Faculty Recital Sunday (November 14)

The first student/faculty recital is Sunday (November 14) at 2:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel.  Admission is free.  Student performers include: Allison Altman, Nicholas Baldauf, Sally Ernst, Elisabeth Geyer, Larry Kennedy-King, Stephanie MacDonald, Shannon Meyers, Sarah Mintel, Joshua Osmanski, Yurina Osumi, Alyssa Palombo, Laura Shepherd and the Canisius College Drum Club.  Faculty performers include Bob Accurso, Ellen Barnum, Jane Cary and Melissa Thorburn.
