Campus Programming and Leadership Development (CPLD) along with the William H. Fitzpatrick Institute of Public Affairs and Leadership is excited to host an evening with Herman Boone on Tuesday (October 26) at 8 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center.
Boone’s presentation, entitled “Remember the Titans: Lessons of Leadership,” will feature a presentation on his experiences during the struggle of integration and the leadership lessons that can be learned from this important event in American history. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session with Boone. This event is part of the CPLD Leadership Series.
Boone is one of the coaches that led the T.C. Williams High School football team in 1971 and ultimately the entire school through tumultuous integration at T.C. Williams High School. This challenge was captured in the Disney film, Remember the Titans which starred Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington.
