A password is not just an obstacle that one must surmount to get work done; it’s a method of authentication. In other words, the computer system a person is interacting with believes that a person is who they claim to be. This means that anyone else who knows your password is, from the computer’s point of view, you. Never share a password with anyone, ever, because you are responsible for their actions under your account. If someone on campus needs access to something, please call the Help Desk at Ext. 2299 for a safe and secure way to share that data.
