Whether you are an experienced blackjack player or never heard of the popular card game at all, my talk is for you. Unfortunately my talk is not intended to make you an expert card shark ready to take on Las Vegas. Instead, I will present a mathematical concept of the game and teach you how something that seems like a simple game of chance is actually a playground for anyone who has the simplest understanding of set theory, statistics and can do basic math quickly.
In my talk I will give a basic background on how the game is played. From there I will give a brief definition on Monte Carlo Simulations as I go over the universal guide of what to do when dealt certain cards. Finally, I will introduce how to count cards and how the gambler will utilize the count to put the odds in their favor.
Hope to see everyone at my presentation on December 4th!

Hello Jake. You did a great job presenting your topic and seemed very interested and knowledgeable. I have heard of people counting cards and always wondered how they did it but I never looked it up. It was great to know it is not illegal because the movies always make it seem that it is, due to people being dragged into the office and waiting for the police. This was a great topic. Thank you.
