About

I am a professor in the departments of Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation (ABEC) and Biology, and Chair of the ABEC Department. I’ve been at Canisius College since 2009, having worked in the zoo field for many years, at both Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, IL. My undergraduate degree is from Bucknell University (in animal behavior). I received my master’s degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder in environmental, population and organismal biology, and my PhD from the University of Chicago in evolutionary biology.
