This month we are spotlighting Marissa Rizzo. Marissa is a Junior at Canisius, and majors in both Chemistry and Psychology. She is a great asset to us because she tutors both Biology and Chemistry. Marissa is one of our most requested tutors. She is approachable, and consistently displays a helpful attitude. Students come in specifically looking for her assistance, and she does a wonderful job connecting with them, helping them understand concepts and completing their assignments. Marissa understands that these subjects do not come easily to everyone, but does a great job of making sure students leave feeling more confident in their ability to complete their work.
Not only is she a great tutor to her fellow students, but she is an overall positive and active member of the Canisius community. She is currently the President of Pre-SOMA (Student Osteopathic Medical Association), she serves as the Vice President of the Society of Pre-Health Professionals, and she is also actively involved in the American Chemical Society, and the Honors Student Association. Overall, Marissa is a very well-rounded student and role model to her peers. After graduation, she hopes to attend osteopathic medical school as the next leg of her educational journey. We appreciate Marissa and all of her hard work.
