It certainly doesn’t feel like spring in Western New York, but all of the activity blossoming on campus reminds us of where we are in the academic year! (Luckily, the tunnel system on campus allows our students to enjoy wearing their flip-flops, even with the lingering snow on the ground.) Once we move past spring break, it seems that the end of year activity shifts into high gear as students and faculty enter the final stretch, graduating seniors excitedly prepare for Commencement, and students begin making their summer plans. As you will see in this month’s newsletter, Canisius offers a range of services to guide and support students and families as they transition into the next season of their academic and professional careers. Internship and career development counseling and a range of workshops are readily available to help students take their next steps. Canisius prides itself on cura personalis – care for the whole person – and it takes many forms. Whether it is in the classroom with faculty, on the athletic field, or through our student support services, Canisius faculty and staff continuously provide students with the care, personal attention, and knowledge to live boldly and fulfill their dreams. The research, scholarship, artistry and talent showcased at Ignatian Scholarship Day alone are premier examples of our students’ tremendous gifts and talents. I know they are working very hard, and I wish all of our students the very best as they enter these final weeks of the semester.
