On March 28 Canisius undergraduate students were invited, by Student Health, to complete the online American College Health Association National Health Assessment Survey (NCHA). The survey is used by colleges and universities across the United States to collect important information about college students’ health habits, behaviors, and perceptions. NCHA is considered the gold standard for college and universities interested in the health of their students.
Questions cover a wide range of health issues, including alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, sexual health, weight, nutrition and exercise, emotions, feelings and safety.
The survey also gathers data on how health issues such as illness, injuries, sleep, stress, internet use, etc. impact a student’s grades and academic progress.
The results will be used to create and enhance services and programs to improve the well being of our students as well as to support their academic progress.
In order for the survey to be impactful, we need student participation! Student Health is asking parents for their help in motivating students to complete the survey.
Please text/call your student the weekend of March 29 and encourage them to complete the survey.
Thank you for your support!
