Erik Taheri graduated from Canisius in 2014 with a dual major in Computer Science and Digital Media Arts, and moved to New York City to work for Stinkdigital as a developer. His responsibilities include conceptualization and execution of the technical aspects of their web, interactive, and digital work. This includes multiple digital mediums. Each project is unique and presents new challenges and opportunities to create innovative and creative experiences.
Stinkdigital’s projects are a unique combination of development and filmmaking. Erik’s dual major at Canisius gave him the perfect skill set for the work at this company, a global creative agency dedicated to building better digital experiences.
“The company works with clients and advertising agencies worldwide on everything from strategy and conception through design and high-end execution,” Erik said. “They also represent a roster of world class film directors and have a film production capability delivering everything from online content to award winning cinema.” The firm has offices around the world, including LA, NYC, London, Paris, and Berlin. “Core competencies begin with interactive creative conceptions that include projects that create everything from live-action and animation to microsites, web apps, mobile phone applications and installation work,” said Erik.
Through his job with Stinkdigital, Erik works on projects with highly recognizable clients, such as Google, Target, and Spotify. “The skills I developed in class, along with the other opportunities I had at Canisius, have given me the tools it takes to be successful,” says the Canisius alum.
His best advice for students? “Work hard and challenge yourself.”
