For my networking event this semester, I attended The Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) Spring National College Media Conference on March 9-11 in in San Francisco, California. As a staff member of The Griffin Newspaper, I was able to attend this prestigious conference.

This conference consisted of a variety of breakout sessions each day with three keynote speakers that are well-versed in the journalism field. I attended breakout sessions to enhance my skills and interests as well as learning about new things in my field. For example, I participated in multiple graphic design and social media sessions, but I also attended a session on multi-media journalism and another on typography! My favorite session I attended was a round table discussion for photojournalist where I met other photographers from around the country.

Through this conference, I was able to meet and connect with a variety of professionals in journalism, media, social media, graphic design, and photography. In addition to meeting professionals, I was able to connect with my peers and share tips. I am so grateful I was able to go to this event and hope to attend another one in the fall!
