My first two weeks with Roswell’s video production/creative services department has gone well. Everyone has been kind, welcoming, and helpful. So far I have taken photos of old camera lenses that they are trying to sell, edited them, edited an interview with a new doctor, and assisted on a photoshoot. I have already had lots of hands-on experience, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I am very excited for the rest of the semester and all that I will learn in my time there. I did a lot of shadowing and observing at my last internship, so I am looking forward to contributing to the department. I was a bit nervous on my first day because Roswell is big and intimidating. I was not sure what skills they were expecting me to already have and if I would be qualified to work with them. I have found it is best to be honest about what I have experience with and what I am not familiar with. I know that they are happy to teach me the things I do not know and I am looking forward to learning even more about video production.

You are going to learn so much. Hands-on experience is so important. Add to that, the real world work environment of an internship and you are going to walk away with a valuable list of skills that you can offer your future employer. Great job!
