Earlier in the semester I attended HomeCOMing, held in the Science Hall Commons. The set up was very simple: you walk in and are greeted by people sitting at a table with blank name tags laid in front of them. You fill out your name tag with your name, graduation date and major/minors. Many of the people who attended were a mixture of classmates I know, and professors I enjoy learning from. The rest of the attendees were alumni who I recognized, and other alumni who I did not. I got to talk to someone who currently works at UB as a career counselor, and was given her business card. We had a really nice conversation about careers and finding what path to take that would work best for you. I learned alot from that conversation, and enjoyed networking with other Canisius students/alumni.
To anyone wondering if they should go to that networking event- do it! It’s worth the time and effort.
