My internship experience was quite pleasant with the Buffalo Beauts. Nate Oliver, the GM of the team, gave me a great opportunity to write both informatively and creatively for a very young and fun team and I got everything out of the internship I was looking for. I’d recommend it to anybody else who wants to be a hockey writer. Getting to interview players after games and for player profiles was very fun, and it’s good experience for me personally because I saw improvement with how I did profile pieces. During this internship I learned a lot about deadlines and how to work well with others, and I had a great time working with other people who I had previous experiences with covering Canisius Hockey. Lastly, on another level, it was a blessing to cover women’s hockey because I am passionate about the women’s game and growing it. Being able to promote the sport as well as the Buffalo Beauts was great, I’m incredibly thankful for it. I hope I can continue more work for them in the future, as well as expand my horizons in other areas as well.
